ACG Sunderland – Sports Field & Civil Infrastructure
Kāpehu Civil was engaged as Head Contractor for the complete construction of the new sports field and associated civil infrastructure at ACG Sunderland.
The $1.1 million project involved the turnkey construction of the sports field, from initial earthworks and formation through to drainage, field construction and final completion.
A significant component of the project was the construction of extensive retaining systems, incorporating both Stone Strong engineered block retaining walls and timber retaining structures across the site. Our scope also included footpath construction, drainage, earthworks and associated civil works required to integrate the new field into the surrounding school environment.
As Head Contractor, Kāpehu managed the overall delivery of the project, including programme, subcontractor coordination, health and safety, quality control and construction delivery within an operational education environment.
The project demonstrates Kāpehu’s ability to take full responsibility for complex civil projects, combining sports field construction, engineered retaining solutions and general civil infrastructure under a single head contract.
